This is further evidence by his dribbling ability as he’s able to glide past players with relative ease. Over the past three seasons in the top flight of Spanish football Messi has completed an astounding 471 take-ons – a record unmatched across the entire division.

Running Messi close to this achievement is his teammate at the Camp Nou in Neymar. The Brazilian international is just two short of the Barca no.10 as he was able to make up ground by completing 166 take-ons last season – the most across the entire league.
Making up the top four is Real Madrid playmaker Isco and Celta Vigo winger Fabián Orellana (on loan at Valencia) but both are someway behind the top two having completed 196 and 190 take-ons respectively over this selected period.
